Clewiston Middle Shows Their Appreciation

A couple weeks ago, Michelle Reed headed over to Clewiston to do her annual workshop with the children. In a town in need of a little pick-me-up, it seems almost inevitable that the children would do just the same for her.

"Kathy Irey delved a large stack of letters to my home this Sunday evening when she joined us for dinner," Michelle said.

Kathy Irey, an AVID teacher at Clewiston Middle, has kept close contact with Michelle through the years. Their relationship has grown; as well as this workshop.

"She and I set at my dining room table as I read through the letters. When I read one of the letters, it was so touching that the tears ran down my cheeks."

"Later that evening Trevor and I were sitting on the couch and he and I read the remaining letters. The letters are filled with love, inspiration, hope and dreams."

The letters were inspiring for Michelle. They let her know this is what she was meant to be doing.

"The CMS students are a blessing in my life and I am so thankful to have the opportunity to spend time with them each year."

Katy & Sean Bring Chicago with Them

Katy & Sean are part of a fairytale ending. Their story began when they met in Chicago at Loyola University Chicago. Because that day has began this journey they are on, it made sense for them to incorporate the special places they went to in Chicago on their special day.

"Sean and I tried to include Chicago into the wedding as best we could," says Katy.

We first met up with Katy who was wearing a Vera Wang gown with a black waist belt. Her hair was up in a formal bun to show off her sleeveless dress. Her hair was styled by Mia Manaloto. Her natural and stunning make-up was done by Dani Taverna. James Hurd from The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples designed her bouquet and flower arrangements seen throughout the night.

Katy wore a blue sapphire ring as her something blue and something borrowed which matched the array of colors in her themed wedding.

Katy & Sean were married on the beach front of The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples where beach-goers, family & friends watched. Their 4-year-old Chihuahua was also there as a groomsman! After the ceremony, everyone enjoyed the reception led by their rockin band, CTO High Voltage.

The reception was also special to them since Kilwins of Naples, owned by their parents, was host to an array of chocolate goodies including: rice krispie treats, marshmallows, pretzels, Ritz crackers, coconut haystacks and oreos.

"There were also hand rolled caramels," Katy adds.

We would like to congratulate the new couple, and wish them luck as Sean graduates medical school before their trip to Bora Bora!

Michelle Reed Gives Faith to Clewiston

Located in the middle of the state, this town flourished. Known as America’s sweetest town, Clewiston thrived on the cultivation of sugar plantations, vegetables and cattle. Clewiston was a small town paradise for people trying to live the American dream. Clewiston may still be known as the sweetest town, but it is now far from.

In the midst of this farmer region, crime and poverty has now become their biggest productions. Aggravated assault charges and violent crimes surpass national averages, and in a town with roughly 7,000 people, risks remain high. Of the 7,000 people who live there, 30 percent of the population is children.

Clewiston Middle School is at the heart of it all. Serving as a host for children’s education, Clewiston Middle School also serves as a safe house to many.

Kathy Irey, an AVID teacher for grades 7 and 8, has realized the circumstances of her students. Her mission is to change their way of life through education; by changing their own expectations of themselves. Almost half of the population in Clewiston never graduated high school and it has become her passion to feature professional people in her classroom, who just like her students, started with nothing.

Kathy came across the website of professional photographer Michelle Reed, and reached out to her in hopes that she may change the views of many of her students.

“I have had many opportunities to show the students people who have fulfilled their dreams. I tell the kids when I looked at these men and women; I see a dream fulfilled,” Kathy said in a heartwarming e-mail written to Michelle. She continues, “129 students will get to see your work and hopefully start many dreaming.”

Michelle knew this was her calling; she thought of it as a way she could give back. And boy, did she ever.

Her first year speaking to over 300 students has sparked an annual event that many children look forward to. During her time there, Michelle shares stories from her past and present, which embody the elements of hope and faith in oneself. She also shares the many aspects of her business, and lets the students feel what it’s like to be a professional photographer.

"This is one of the highlights of my year,” Michelle said. "The children are all unique in their own way; they are such a blessing to me.”

The Clewiston Middle School Workshop has become a way for the students to forget for a moment the circumstances in which they live—to have faith in their dreams.

Michelle has received close to 1,000 letters from students over the years who also share their stories; they share stories of fear, of their dreams, and of the hope they now feel because of her.

January 26 will mark the fourth year Michelle will be speaking to the students of Clewiston Middle School.

Michelle said, “I can’t wait.”

Emily & David's Traditional Flare

Traditional weddings always have a certain comfort for us. We think white church, two people in love and rice being thrown at the end. When we arrived to Emily & David's wedding, we knew we were getting just that; but better.

It was a gorgeous day outside. For those of you who don't know Florida in the winter, you can almost always expect perfect spring-like temperatures and a happy sky. We first met Emily at Trinity by the Cove Episcopal Church. She wore a sleeveless lace dress. It was vintage with flare. She added a satin flowered belt to the dress which matched David's flower in his tux.

After the ceremony, the couple, friends and family headed to the Ritz-Carlton Resort of Naples to eat and celebrate. Everyone spent the rest of their night at the beach house to eat dinner by the sunset, and dance under the stars.

Winter Wedding Tips

White winter wedding themes are always gorgeous and classic, but don't be afraid to try a rustic or nature-themed approach with feathers, leaves, or pine cones. Jewel tones are also popular and are a great way to make a colorful statement. Try emerald greens, ruby reds, sapphire blues, and so on. If you do decide to stick with the traditional winter white wedding, experiment with different textures and finishes like iridescent accents, sparkle, and crystal embellishments, and incorporate candles as they bring out the romance of the season.

We recently shot a few weddings that incorporated into their wedding deep blues and purples. Because we live in Florida, winter isn’t always accented through the weather. These weddings were done perfectly, and set the ambiance for their winter wedding. The use of feathers from a peacock, crystals, or candle holders can add a little zest to your wedding while not over doing it. I’ve even seen a pine cone cake done, and it was an excellent piece in their wedding.

Also, Florida nights can tend to be a bit cold. Don’t leave your guests fighting for warmth! Set up small fires along the area. This can act as a warm up station and it can also add some romantic flare to your wedding.

A winter wedding isn’t as traditional as a Spring or Summer wedding but a Winter wedding has its own charm and can be equally romantic.

Their ceremony ended with an amazing sunset of oranges and purples. Friends & family enjoyed the rest of their evening with a full course meal and dancing in The Beach House.

Dina & Matt Enjoy an Elegant Wedding at Sundial

Sundial Beach resort has become quite a staple for weddings. We met our bride Dina there before she was dressed. Her room was filled with family; and the excitement began to build as she got dressed her in gown designed by Galina Signature. It was beautifully paired with a white bird cage atop her flowing wavy hair, and natural make-up styled and designed by Sir Daniel and Faces by Frohmberg.

"They were so much fun," Dina says. "I wish I lived in Naples!"

Dina and her hubby-to-be were married on the beach front of Sanibel Island.

Directly after the ceremony, friends and family enjoyed cocktail hour, later to make their way to the reception in the ballroom of Sundial Resort.

Her wedding was styled with colors red and black; classy and simple.

"Floral artistry from Sanibel Island did my flowers, which I would have to say was my favorite part of my wedding. The centerpieces where exactly like I imagined in my head; rose galore!" she says.

The married couple and guests enjoyed dinner and dancing listening to Dj Gil Sanabria.

"Not only did he do an awesome job, he looked awesome!"

They enjoyed the rest of their evening at Sundial, and plan to have their honeymoon early next year.

"We will be going on a European cruise middle of February, and since we live in Chicago we will appreciate leaving then much more than after the wedding!"

Love is Glamorous with The Shinoffs

Coming from San Diego, this couple traveled to Southwest Florida to show the beauty and charm to family and friends; and along the way to tie the knot.

"Friends and family traveled from London, Canada, California, Arizona and the East Coast," Stephanie says.

"The wedding weekend was filled with festivities from a Welcome Dinner and Deep Sea Fishing to Bridal Party Pasta Cooking Lessons (Naples Tomato), an Everglades Tour and Post Wedding Brunch."

Family and friends kept busy, but I'm sure they would say the best part was being able to witness the marriage of the new couple.

We met Stephanie at The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples just in time for her to get dressed. Stephanie wore a dress designed by Somsi Couture. She paired her dress with shoes by Stuart Weitzman. She looked stunning; her hair styled wavy and her make-up was done by The Ritz-Carlton Spa.

On her bouquet that was also styled by The Ritz-Carlton, she pinned her something old; her Great Great Grandmother's Victorian Cameo Brooch. She also wore a diamond and pearl hair comb for her something new, and a bracelet made by her aunt for her something blue.

The couple had a sunset wedding on the beach front of The Ritz-Carlton; one of their many specialties.

After the ceremony, the Shinoff's, family and friends headed off to the glamorous reception where The Headliners rocked and swayed the crowd.

"I would like to thank you(Michelle Reed Photography Team) again for all of the assistance that was given to me in preparation for the day of my wedding. I really couldn't have managed so calmly without you," Stephanie says.

The couple went off into the sunset and found themselves at the W Retreat & Spa on Vieques Island for their honeymoon.

Jennifer & Brandons Inspired Peacock Wedding at The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples

We first had the pleasure of working with Jennifer & Brandon when they flew down for their engagement session. Right off the bat we knew just how in love these two were. Love is about passion, trust and most of all happiness--and theirs always shined through. Jennifer & Brandon wanted to have a destination wedding in a close intimate setting with their closest family and friends, and The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples was able to provide just that.

On the day of their wedding we met first with Jennifer. What a bubbly and positive woman she is! We felt like we had known her all our lives because she and her family made us feel so welcomed.

Jennifer wore a sleeveless and well-pleated dress designed by Monique Lhuillier. She paired with her dress a pair of flats designed by Vera Wang Lavender. Jennifer wore her hair back, and her make-up naturally stunning.

"Jan at the spa at The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples did my hair and make-up; she did a fabulous job," Jennifer says.

The Ritz-Carlton also provided all of her flowers which ranged in many different varities including Picasso Calla Lilies, Purple Orchids, Lavender White Roses, Hydrangeas and Lisianthus. Brigitte Rivard, Senior Manager, Meetings and Special Events for The Ritz-Carlton, Naples set the theme as something you may find out of a fairy tale.

"Peacock feathers was our theme and inspired my colors...eggplant, silver and lavender," Jennifer says.

After their beach front ceremony accompanied by a string quartet, their reception was held at the Beach House of The Ritz-Carlton.

"The Beach House is very different from a traditional hotel banquet room," she says, "The Beach House at The Ritz-Carlton Naples was spectacular. Our guests raved about the food, the wedding cake, the music and the ambiance."

Dj Randy Ray provided rockin' music the entire night.

"Our wedding was simply perfect. My wedding was truly the best day of my life! I wouldn't change a thing."

The couple spent one more night at The Ritz-Carlton and flew off to the Turks & Caicos to enjoy their honeymoon relaxing and soaking up the sun.

Keeping Your Love Alive During the Holidays

With all of our time constraints, places to be, things to buy and people to please, it becomes hard to forget on the Holidays just why we are here, and why we make an effort to do all of the above. Holiday stress can come on quickly, but here are a few tips to make sure your holiday cheer gets a healthy serving!

1)Be Thankful: We all know with family gatherings things are bound to get hectic. Casseroles can get burned as well as people’s moods. Remember why you gather around the big turkey in the first place. Be thankful for time you do have with each other, even if it’s running around preparing for a feast.

2)Say No: Holiday parties and gatherings are essential for this time of the year. With the fifty invitations you may receive, it isn’t always necessary to RSVP to all of them. Sit down with your honey and choose which gatherings you both would enjoy. Remember, it’s always okay to say no.

3)Show Your Appreciation: Time may become you and your honey’s enemy when it comes time for the holiday. Even if you can’t spend that good quality time together, remind your other half that you love them and appreciate them.

4)Work Together: Often during the holidays, one person takes on more than they can handle. Lend a helping hand to your honey. If it’s something you may not be able to do initially, make an effort to be available at a later time. Not only will they appreciate how much you care, working together can also tighten your relationship and relieve stresses.

5)Be Affectionate: I know what you may be thinking, where is the time? Take a break from your busy holiday schedule and take a 10-minute walk or cuddling sesh. This will this help lower your stress levels, and give the two of you an excuse for a little holiday intimacy.

Wendy & Jason were married at Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club with gorgeous scenery surrounding them. Wendy wore a timeless, sleeveless dress with waist belt, designed by Oleg Cassini. Jason complemented her with his grey suit designed by Giorgio Fiorelli. Wendy's make-up and hair was style by Skin Renewal Systems of Marco Island. Her abundant bouquet was deigned by Marco Island Florist. To complement Wendy's vintage look, she carried a blue purse made from her mother's wedding dress, and her sister's pearl bracelet.

Get a Picture Perfect Wedding Schedule

With wedding season in full swing, we know that at the top of your list is the wedding day schedule. In the wedding world, timing is everything. With all the choices of details and dresses, how can you pull off a beautifully flowing wedding and still have time to spend with your guests? Check out these tips that can make your day more enjoyable & stress free!

1) Get hair and make-up done early: When your hair and make-up team tell you what time they’ll need to start hair and make-up on the morning of your wedding, you’ll probably think they’re crazy. But you should trust them when they tell you how much time they will need. We know you may think your make-up might wear off when it comes time to walk down the aisle, but they don't call them professionals for nothing!

2) Make sure everyone is ready before you: The last thing you want to do is worry about everyone else but yourself. If your bridal party and family is dressed before you, pictures are sure to be on time. Why is this important? Because when everyone is gathered around you helping you get dressed, everyone isn't in their jeans and tank tops.

3) Plan enough time for family photos: Family pictures are important. Your wedding day is probably one of the few times in your life that you will have this particular group of family all in the same place at the same time. You definitely want to get photos of them all together. Gathering everyone together can be a challenge if it’s not planned out. Ways to help avoid problems is to provide your photographer with a list of people you want photographed. This will save time and relieve pressures.

4) Your guests are here for you: Some of your guests may have traveled far distances just to see you, this is why it is important to make sure you schedule enough time for mingling. We know receiving lines are a bit old fashioned, but this gives you a chance to see and thank your guests for coming before the reception. This way you'll save yourself some time to bust a move!

5) Too much time is better than no time: Believe it or not, most weddings never start on time. To avoid mishaps and not enough time for pictures, schedule yourself a little "cushion" time just in case things run a little behind.

6) Always communicate with your photographer: Your wedding photographer has most likely been through numerous wedding seasons. Let's face it, scheduling becomes second nature to us. An Unforgettable Wedding with Tamika & Chris

Weather has been cooling off in Florida, making it a perfect time of the year for outdoor weddings. We first arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples to meet Tamika, and we were blown away by her. When we walked in her suite, the feel in the room was nothing but joyous and happy. Tamika greeted us with a huge smile; we could tell just how excited she was that her and Chris were finally tying the knot.

Her family & friends surrounded her with laughter and champagne as she got dressed in her Fall 2011 Rivini dress.

"It was wonderful having our family there to share the moment with us. The day was amazing," Tamika says.

Her taste in fashion was impeccable. She matched her gown with a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes. Tamika's look was complete with her Mother's borrowed earrings, blue skies and vintage bracelet.

Chris wore a custom designed suit and shirt by the Director of Kleinfeld Men's Department, Frank Jedda, with Prada shoes and Ferragamo belt. Now that's a stylish couple!

Tamika's hair was styled by Porsche Waldo of Ebony Design of New York who flew down for the special day; and The Ritz-Carlton took care of her make-up. Her bouquets were also designed by The Ritz-Carlton Resorts of Naples.

Tamika & Chris were married in a very intimate setting in the Tea Garden of The Ritz-Carlton resorts of Naples. Following the ceremony, the couple hosted a memorable dinner for their guests of 20 in The Ritz-Carlton private dining room.

The couple will be honeymooning in the Resort of Grande Sandals Antigua.

An Elegant Affair: Susannah & Brandon at The Ritz-Carlton Resort of Naples

When we first arrirved at The Ritz-Carlton resort of Naples, we hurried to the Day Spa to meet Susannah. She was patiently getting her make-up applied. She was nervous, but no one would've ever been able to tell. Susannah was really composed; the perfect attitude for the day of her wedding. Her brother, who was her Man of Honor, took care of all the little details for her; and he did it gracefully. When I asked him how he got to be the Man of Honor, his only response was that he would do anything for his little sister. Once Susannah was finished, we whisked her away to put on her dress. What a beautiful gown she wore. It was a sleeveless dress, rouched and topped with white flowers. Susannah styled her hair down in a loose wave, and wore a long, flowing veil.

Susannah and Brandon were married on the center courtyard of The Ritz-Carlton Resort of Naples.

Family and friends enjoyed cocktail hour as we took their romance photos. Brandon absolutely adored Susannah; it definitely showed in the photos. The couple were so easy to work with; they didn't have to practice their romance shots because it was completely natural to them.

The couple, friends and family ended their night in The Vanderbilt Ballroom at The Ritz-Carlton Resort of Naples. DJ Ceron was their rockin' Dj--and boy did they rock! AMC Video captured all the funny, spontaneous and hopeful moments of the night.

A Dream Come True: Kady & Ryan

We first met Kady & Ryan when they traveled down to get their engagement pictures done. They were completely comfortable in front of the camera, and a lot of fun to work with. As cute as they are, it also made it easy. They are what we like to call Natural Love Birds--you could definitely tell how much they love each other. We were more than excited that their wedding was coming up, and we knew it would be a blast for them as well as for us.

For Kady, Naples was always a dream place for her to have her wedding. LaPlaya Beach & Golf Resort became host to her dream.

"I have been coming to Naples since I was a little girl and it has always been my dream to get married in Naples," she says. "My dream came true!"

Kady, who has a luminous Marilyn Monroe aura about her, dressed in Maggie Sottero. The dress fit her perfectly, and her confidence glowed. Her make-up was done by Mac Cosmetics; she looked naturally striking. Her hair was styled by her sister-in-law Summer Wild, she designed a wavy bun with an added white flower.

Her florist, Lyfe of the Party, did an amazing job arranging bouquets. "My flowers were absolutely beautiful," Kady says."I had a blue satin wrap around my flowers with a piece of my mothers wedding dress on top of the blue,with my grandmother's broach that passed last December."

They were soft and colorful; a perfect match to an outdoor wedding and remembrance.

Her music was provided by Brett & Lola Foreman who are a part of the Brett Foreman Band.

"My wedding day was one of the best days of my life," she says. "It was wonderful having my family and friends there to celebrate my special day with me."

Nicole & Tony get married at LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort

Nicole & Tony made their wedding special by having a destination wedding here in Naples at LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort. Nicole purchased her dress in Wisconsin at a shop called Russair's Veil's and Tails. To pair with her flowing dress, Elizabeth Hart styled Nicole's hair and did her stunning make-up. To add a special flare, her mother designed all of her bouquets and flower arrangements. The couple, friends and family were able to dance the night away with A Sound Choice Entertainment leading the way and AMC Video captured every moment the couple shared.

"The perfect weather was more than my husband and I could have ever imagined for our special day," Nicole said.

They plan on staying an extra week at LaPlaya Resort to enjoy their honeymoon on a beachfront lanai.

5 Stress Free Tips for you & your honey

1)This day is about you. Weddings can become hectic, especially with family and friends. Everyone wants to feel important and have a part in your wedding. 2)Cheers! Known to be one of the happiest times of your life, weddings can sometime be stressful. Prior to your photo session we recommend having a glass of wine or champagne. This little trick will help you relax and enjoy the photo shoot.

3)Keep in close contact with your vendors. Knowing your photographer, videographer and DJ can dim down on a lot of your worry. By e-mailing back and forth and responding to them, you are able to create a connection. By doing this, you know you can feel comfortable in their ability to do their job.

4)Have a “day of” wedding planner. Having a wedding planner the day of is perfect for that hectic wedding day. Kevin & now Jessica Reynolds wanted to keep their wedding special. By doing so, they planned a small wedding at LaPlaya Beach Resort. Jessica's flowing gown was designed by La Sposa. To match her dress, Kevin wore a suit by Brooks Brothers. Jessica's hair was styled by Manda at Bella Capelli who used a soft flower to float atop her blond curls. In the midst of all the styling and designing, Jessica took it upon herself to do her own make-up. The bouquet and other flowers were designed by Kevin with Botanicals on the Gulf. They enjoyed a beach front wedding with family and friends, and wanted to keep it special by only inviting 35 guests.

"We choose to keep our wedding simple and small, so that we were able to enjoy the time with each other as well as each one of our guests," says Jessica.

"The day was absolutely amazing, and we would not have changed a thing."

The couple has decided to wait a few months to enjoy a honeymoon.

Monique and Jason got married on LaPlaya's beach front with details that aroused all senses. Their wedding was planned by Kathie Resop, Side-by-Side Wedding Services. The bouquets were designed by Kevin from Botanicals on the Gulf. Monique's hair and make-up were done by none other than Faces by Frohmberg. Monqiue & Jason held happy hour by the pool side and finished their night in the ballroom across the street and rocked the night away with DJ Daniel Santiago.

The wedding industry is one of the biggest industries in the world. From magazines to television shows, weddings have become iconic. Being a wedding photographer in Naples for almost 13 years, it still came as a surprise when Michelle Reed and Team found out that TLC would be filming this wedding at the LaPlaya. Filming a new series called Bride on the Mile, TLC's production team traveled to Naples to be a part of Mary & Alejandro's big day. Going into a wedding with a television crew in most cases is nerve wrecking, but to our surprise the crew was unobtrusive and lovely to be around, making our job just as easy.

Mary & Alejandro got married on the beach front of LaPlaya Beach and Golf Resort this past Saturday. Mary wore a beautiful form fitting lace dress with open back designed by Jim Hjelm Collection called Blush. She purchased her dress from Daisy Tarsi in Miami on Miracle Mile. Her hair was styled by Marlene Moura to match her vintage looking dress. Her florist who designed her bouquets and reception vases was Raffi of Petal Productions in Miami, FL. Mary & Alejandro's reception was held in the pool area with cabanas and gourmet buffet. They danced the night away with family in friends to the Brett Foreman Band!

"We thought our wedding was absolutely perfect and everything we imagined it would be and more," Mary says.

Sundial Resort: Katy & Scott

With every destination wedding comes an element of family that plays a big part in planning your big day. For Katy & Scott, family and friends played a major part in their planning and partying. Katy, who has been coming to Sanibel for almost 20 years, knew that she wouldn't want to get married at any other place.

"It is quite literally my favorite place on earth to be, so what better location to get married," Katy says.

After planning to have her wedding at Sundial Resort, all the other details came into place. Knowing what type of dress she wanted, Katy had a hard time finding a design that lived up to her expectations.

"I could not find one that had a fun bottom with a dropped asymmetrical waist, so the bridal shoppe took the bottom of one, and the top of another, then added a few details like the flower and a sweetheart neckline," she says.

Though this may seem odd, many bridal shoppes have been known to do this. A completely custom dress, fit for your own imagination.

Sherri from Spatini styled Katy's hair. And with help from her bridesmaids, her look was complete with stunning make-up. Katy's aunt Francine Roveda put together the fabulous bouquets, and also designed the archway. Katy & Scott's reception was also held at Sundial with music provided by their iPod with suggestions from wedding guests as well as some live music.

"My friend Martin Damsell, who I sing in a trio with called "Southern Nights", performed some live music during the ceremony. My friend Ashley and I sang a few songs with Martin during the Dance," Katy says. "My favorite part of the night, however, was when all of the guests opened up the dance floor by performing a dance choreographed and taught to us by my friend Theresa Walsh the day before."

With their big day complete, Katy, Scott and family made their way to Disney World for a family honeymoon, which is where Scott proposed almost a year earlier.

A LaPlaya Wedding: Amy & Gregor

Amy & Gregor exchanged vows on the beach side lawn at LaPlaya. Not planning for the weather that could come, LaPlaya and the couple were determined to have it outside, rain or not. Walking down the aisle with an umbrella, Amy's daughter walked along side her to "Here Comes the Sun" as sung by The Beatles.

Amy's dress was designed by BCBG that were paired with a stunning pair of Chanel heels. Her hair and make up was done by her personal stylist, Nancy, who is the owner at Butterfly Salon in Miami. Her florist was Lyfe of the Party, and her music was provided by LaPlaya. Cocktail hour was enjoyed on the lawn with dinner following in the Wine Room.

"I would do it over again and again and still would take the drizzling rain," says Amy. "I would not change a thing; it was by far the happiest day of my life!"

Held on the center court, their wedding was viewed by family & friends who mostly traveled from the New England states. Another Tiburon wedding left us speechless this past weekend. Tony & now Linda Katz planned an amazing wedding day with their family and friends in the ballroom of Tiburon. Planned as a traditional Jewish ceremony, it was full of excitement, hope and love. The couple, who have known each other for 39 years, were ecstatic to get married and you can see how they were still so in love.

"Unlike most brides and grooms, we had our grandchildren, great nieces, great nephew, children and our parents attend the wedding," says Linda.

Linda's fitting purple gown was designed by Isaac Mizrahi Couture that paired lovely with Tony's Ralph Lauren custom suit and purple tie. Linda's hair and make-up was styled by Bill Whited of Washington DC. Linda's and bridemaids stunning bouquets made of calla lilies were designed in house at The Ritz-Carlton. Their reception following directly after cocktail hour was led by the one and only Dj Ceron. We also loved working along side AMC Video Production and Christy Ruiz from the Ritz-Carlton!

With Florida summer weather, it is almost guaranteed to rain every day. With heavy winds and dark skies looming in the distance, Pepe and now Kristen Benitez had a decision to make. Kristen was determined to keep the ceremony outside, and with her luck on her side, the rain held off for a beautiful ceremony on the courtyards of Tiburon Golf Course. Kristen & Pepe had a traditional Cuban wedding with three parts to their ceremony; a candle lighting of the two families, Mantilla (spanish veil) covering, and a final candle lighting of the new couple ending with a butterfly release.

"We had a beautiful wedding and an amazing time," Kristen says. "We were and still are touched by our family, especially our parents, who worked so hard and love us so much."

Kristen's dress was designed by Carolina Herrera paired with Jimmy Choo shoes. Her Mantilla (spanish veil) was her mother's that was made in Cuba. Kristen's curly bun was styled by a close friend, Debbi Kypriano. Her stunning make-up was done by Susan Dono in Nordstroms. The Ritz-Carlton provided the fresh flowers and rose petals. Family & friends danced the night away to DJ Ceron and added drummer Juan Diaz. AMC Video Productions captured every fun moment of it all.

Summer is here which means warmer weather and beautiful sunsets! Michelle Reed & team met Lindsay & Erik at the Ritz-Carlton Resort of Naples where they prepared for their big day. Lindsay & Erik weren't nervous at all, but they were excited to share the rest of their lives together. Their ceremony was held on the beach where family and friends attended; most were in sandals or barefoot. The cocktail hour was also held outside with an on-call bartender. Their reception was held only feet away in the Beach House where everyone danced the night away.

"Erik and I absolutely loved every moment of our magical day! It was so picture perfect from the wonderful family & friends we had travel from all over to be there, to the beautiful beach setting, to the perfect weather & sunset! We could not have asked for a more amazing wedding day," Lindsay says.

For Michelle Reed and her team, Trinity by the Cove has been a favorite amongst a lot of their clients. Located in Naples, this little chapel offers an amazing view and ceremony. Drake and now Christina Jarman shared vows and rings this past Saturday among friends and family. The lighting was perfect as it shown directly on them during the ceremony. Afterward, everyone made their way on trolleys to the Port Royal Club for the cocktail hour and reception.

As Michelle Reed and her team headed out to Marco Beach Ocean Resort, the excitement was building in the weather. As a couple traveling from Chicago Illinois, the nervousness heightened when the winds picked up. The weather was promising rain, but held out in time for the ceremony to begin. Josh & now Jennifer Guerin had their wedding directly on the beach overlooking the pristine and intimidating ocean and clouds. Their short and sweet ceremony left friends and family in awe as you could see the happiness in their first kiss as a married couple.

Jennifer's flowing and sequined dress was designed by Romona Keveza. To go along with her stunning dress, her braided bun was styled by Hair by Robert Philadelphia. We had the pleasure of working with Hope Henderson again, who did the make-up of the bride as well as the Mother of the bride and her sister who was the Maid of Honor. The Garden District styled the abundant bouquets held by both the bride and maid of honor. After the ceremony, The Brett Foreman Band began singing to lighten the mood during cocktail hour and dinner. They also paired up with Dj Ceron, who rocked the house with his killer music. Ashli & James Stewart: The Quarry

This past Saturday, Michelle Reed and her team adventured down to The Quarry, east on Immokalee road, for a small and intimate wedding. As soon as Michelle and her team arrived, the bride, groom and their families were nothing but helpful and pleasant to work with. With things going as smooth as possible, the bride was anxious and exited for the ceremony and festivities to begin. The ceremony was held behind the reception area on a petal covered lawn.

Her natural looking hair and make-up was done by the duo team Sir Daniel and David Frohmberg. The bride's bouquet, as well as the flowers arrayed at the ceremony were designed by Helen at JH Design. The couple's rockin' dj was Kevin Schell from Elite Weddings. We also had the pleasure of working with his wife who was their videographer.

With a wedding in spring full of pink and white their cake details weren't short of the theme.

"We were very pleased with our cake from Mikkelson's Bakery and Elizabeth was wonderful to work with. The cake was four layers--two were red velvet with cream cheese icing and two were vanilla with fresh strawberries and grand mariner."

The Ritz-Carlton Welcomes the DeMoura's

Michelle and her team made their way down to the Ritz-Carlton for a wedding that could never be forgotten. Located in Naples, the Ritz not only offers an amazing view, but the weather was perfect for this special occasion. With the sun shining, and a butterfly release to start the ceremony, Kate Kilian became a DeMoura in front of family and friends. The decoration and details accentuated the happiness felt between the couple and their families.

The Ritz-Carlton decorated the event with luscious flowers. Kate's hair was styled by Marta and Meggan from Ncolor Salon who also did her make-up. AMC Productions was also there to capture every moving moment. Unlike most weddings where a Dj is present, the DeMoura's hired a band called Clint Wiley's None Other Band.

"They were the best and kept everyone dancing until the wee hours of the morning--our guests had a blast," Kate says about the band.

Lauren & Jimmy: A Fancy Fairytale

This past Saturday, Michelle and her team journeyed to Fort Myers to shoot the wedding of Jimmy and Lauren Colantoni. Florida's summer weather almost got the best of them when the winds picked up and the dark clouds had promise of rain. Luckily for the bride and groom, plan B didn't have to go into action as the storm blew over just in time for the ceremony.

"We were worried up until the very last minute that our ceremony would be rained out, but the sun came out as we were saying our vows," Lauren says.

The ceremony and reception were done at The Renaissance. The ceremony started out with a string trio who call themselves the Vanderbilt Strings. Lauren's very couture dress was designed by Romona Keveza, an amazing find at Tie the Knot Bridal Couture Collections. To complement her dress, her low bun was styled by StudioRK who also did her make-up. Her florist JH Designs put together amazing bouquets of flowers that hung beautifully from the audience's chairs. Michelle and her team also had the pleasure of working with AMC Productions who did the video for their day to remember.

The Straza's Extravagant Wedding

Here at Michelle Reed, we love weddings with a lot of detail and creativity--and the Straza's wedding was able to do just that. They brought us to The Quarry, locally in Naples, and what an extravagant place. The Quarry engulfed everyone in its beautiful scenery, and Mr. and Mrs. Straza were the icing to the cake. Angela Scott, now Mrs. Straza wore a flowing dress tied with lace, designed by Pattis. Her dress was complemented with a low side bun and flower up-do designed by her sister Jenna Marie. The flowers were in a beautiful array, done by JH Design. The DJ was the rockin' Dj Ceron. And who can forget the cake? The cake was sculpted and iced by Kakes by Karen, who also did cupcakes for the wedding. To make her wedding just the talk of the town, the Straza's also rented a photo booth for their reception as well as the artist Juan Diaz to paint their wedding ceremony. Phew--what kind of planning did that take?

"I smile every time I think about our wedding," says Angela. "I loved every minute of it and would do it again--just not plan it."

Leigh and Jason Amster: An East Coast Excursion

Leigh and her husband Jason sent Aimee and her team to the East coast of Florida to Frenchman's Creek, Juno Beach. Having done a number of Jewish ceremonies, this one seemed to stick out among the rest. With a Chuppah made out of tree branches, this wedding was nothing short of a fairy tale. The flowers that accented the Chuppah were done by Atlas Flowers. Leigh wore a long and fitted dress with accents of lace designed by David Fielden. Her shoes were done by Stuart Weitzman. We want to congratulate Jason and Leigh Amster and hope they enjoyed their honeymoon in Hawaii!

Katie Rizzo and Dan Marr dive into Marco Ocean Beach Resort to tie the knot. Katie was excited and ready to take the plunge to become a Marr. With high anticipations, the weather was promising. Katie wore a dress designed by Lazaro with her hair and make-up done by Marriott Spa on Marco Island. The wedding was held directly on the beach with details to die for. Katie's sister who recently passed was also present in a butterfly release ceremony able to complete the day for Katie, her family and now extended family. Congratulations Katie and Dan!

Amanda and Carl tied the knot at the Marco Ocean Beach Resort. Aimee and Joanna photographed this event and did an awesome job. Amanda was stunning in the custom designed gown of her dreams. Carl surprised Amanda with a diamond ring of his own design. The bridesmaid's dresses were from David's Bridal and added a vibrant splash of color to the party. The Garden District did a beautiful job with the bouquets and table decor. Guests thoroughly enjoyed the photo booth provided by Photo Booth Florida. Congratulations Amanda and Carl!

Jenny and Adam were fabulous to work with. Jenny is in the wedding and events business, so she knew how to pull it all together. Her expertise and style made the affair truly amazing. The wedding took place at the beautiful Miromar Lakes Beach and Golf Club. Adam's smile lights up the room, and Jenny is absolutely adorable. Jenny wore a beautiful dress designed by Demetrios, Style 2010 Demetrios Exclusive. The unique bridesmaid's dresses where from the Jim Hjelm Occasions, Style JH5001, color Opal. Flowers were provided by Xpress Floral. Video was provided by our very favorite AMC Video. The DJ, John Standberg, was great and had an incredible system. The guests had fun dancing the night away.

For the past three years I have had the privilege of sharing my passion for photography with the 8th-grade class at Clewiston Middle School. I talk to them about the importance of following their dreams, and about perseverance and hard work. Over the years, several of the students expressed their desire to become professional photographers.

Last Saturday I traveled to the school in order to teach a workshop for 18 students. A portion of the event involved a live shoot. We had three models on hand; 9 month old Gabriel, Amber and Angelica, who were dressed as brides. The students worked with the models and learned how to effectively operate their cameras. We also focused on gaining a better understanding of lighting. It was so much fun to see the kids working with our brides. They did a fabulous job. Awards were given and I was so pleased with the performance of Monica that I passed my first light meter on to her.

Another gorgeous wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Naples, Florida. The day started off with the Milni (the meeting of the families customary to Hindu weddings) as the drummer led Geoff and his family to Center Court to meet Yasmine's relatives. Excitement filled the air.

The group proceeded to the Ballroom for the Sikh Ceremony, known as the Anand Karaj, and awaited Yasmine's arrival. She was absolutely stunning! Following the Anand Karaj, the guests enjoyed a delicious brunch in Center Court. Yasmine returned to her room, to change into her Maggie Sottero bridal gown before proceeding to the Moorings Presbyterian Church for the Christian Ceremony.

Immediately following the Ceremony, guests returned to the Ritz Carlton for an evening filled with fine food, dancing and fun. The Brett Foreman Band did a fabulous job keeping the dance floor filled. Video was provided by AMC Video. Jan with the Ritz Carlton Spa did a fantastic job with Yasmine's hair. Yasmine’s make up was beautifully done by Nikea Pierre-Louis. Limo's were provided by the one and only Elite Limousine. Last, but certainly not least, Nicola Long, the Meeting and Special Events Manager at the Ritz Carlton, organized the entire day flawlessly; she is always a delight to work with.

I love an engagement session. It gives me the opportunity to really get to know my clients. The session takes approximately 2 hours. Depending on the couples personality and their attire, I choose multiple locations. We usually finish on the beach at sunset. On September 30th, I had the opportunity to speak with approximately 290 students at Clewiston Middle School about following their dreams, perseverance, and hard work. I have been speaking at CMS for three years now, thanks to one of the most wonderful teachers I have ever met, Kathy Irey. Every year I return from the trip so humbled. The kids are a true inspiration. I set up a studio and had 15 students use my cameras for a live photo shoot with 15 other students modeling. It was awesome! The students voted on the best image. The winner from each class received a new camera donated by MRP! What a great group of kids, and a true blessing for me.

Kate and Scott celebrated their mid-summer wedding in style at the Ritz Carlton, Naples Resort. Thanks to Nicola Long, Meetings and Special Events Manager at the Ritz Carlton, the event was flawless. Kate's beautiful Melissa Sweet designed gown and Kate Spade hot pink suede heels accented the nights lively mood. Not only did the guests dance the night away to the fabulous rhythms of The CTO High Voltage Band, but the party was just getting stared when the Miami Hurricanes mascot, Sebastian the Ibis, stunned the crowd with his surprise appearance and fancy footwork on the dance floor. We were fortunate to have the opportunity to work our friends at AMC Video.

Wow, what a Spring and Summer Season it has been. We have had our noses to the grindstone for months and months, and are finally taking time to come up for air. Thank you so much for your patience in awaiting this post.

Lots of news to report both in an out of the office. Inside the office we have added a new member to the team. Natosha will be assisting with photographic duties and also working as a full time photo editor. Welcome aboard, Natosha. Also very newsworthy, Aimee said "Yes" to her long-time boyfriend, Chris. A February date has been set, and planning seems to be approaching an around the clock affair for each of us. Congratulations, Aim! We are so happy for you. And as for me, I am glad to report that I was able to get away for ten days with my family in the Florida Keys. Nothing but fresh air, fantastic fishing, and day after day of well earned relaxation. Hoping your summer was great, too.

As a unique twist to their exclusive Ritz Carlton wedding, Executive Pastry Chef, Sebastien Thieffine took center stage as he decorated their exquisite, 5-tiered wedding cake with guests watching in amazement. The fun was nonstop as the lavish wedding dinner set the mood for a night of dancing. Jennifer slipped into her pink Converse and danced the night away to the great sounds of CTO High Voltage Band. As a grand finale Jennifer and Kurt joined the band on stage to sing an amazing duet followed by a midnight Happy Meal snack catered courtesy of McDonalds. While it is true that the vast majority of MRP's weddings take place in the most luxurious and upscale destination venues, occasionally we have the pleasure of photographing an event at the home of the bride or groom, or that of their parents. The Saturday, March 20th ceremony between Parker and Elizabeth taking place at the home of the groom's parents in Naples, FL could not have been any more beautiful or elegant. From the bride's stunning Vera Wang gown, to the perfect preparation and planning provided by Christina Lund, the day was one that will be long remembered by all in attendance. One of life’s greatest pleasures is sometimes enjoying an act or an event for the first time. From first love, to first dance, to first born, the anticipation and the action can make a moment magical. Recently I experienced a first, and I am so pleased to share this awesome event with you today. Photographing the (unanticipated) wedding proposal; it was no small task. Imagine the coordination, preparation and behind the scenes problem solving that took place. It was so worth the effort.

Imagine this; the aspiring groom, Chris, had made a plan to propose marriage to his long-time love. To make it perfect, the pieces had to seamlessly fall into place. He had flown his parents and the bride, Brooke’s parents, too, to Naples for the big event.

The families were enthusiastic and completely cooperative. The weather was not. But on this drizzly day on Florida’s Gulf Coast, while Trevor, my son and super assistant for the day, shot footage with his junior video camera from behind the palm fronds, I hid in the saw grass and fired away with my camera as Chris took a knee and popped the big question. A perfect moment passed, and the answer was given; yes.

Not only were they highly photogenic and delighful in their manners, they taught me their trick to getting the very last lick out of a jar of Peter Pan.

Anna's "High Fashion" Photo Shoot

I had a fantastic time photographing my best friend's daughter, Anna, for her first "high fashion" photo shoot. AnnMarie from AMC Video thought I was crazy for asking her to bring a bag packed with everyday casual clothes instead of the pretty pink dresses. We headed down to the industrial park and took some pictures in the midst of a grungy area. Even with AnnMarie's hesitation I was able to capture Anna in some amazing photographs.

Aimee and I had an incredible time photographing an amazing wedding in NYC. Our weekend began with an engagement photo session in Battery Park with the Statue of Liberty in the background. Shortly after our session, we jumped into a cab and left for Staten Island just in time for the henna painting ceremony. Our beautiful bride Dawn and her handsome groom Vikram celebrated their commitment by having two wedding ceremonies on Saturday. They began with an Indian ceremony; and I must say Dawn looked stunning in her sari. As the guests were escorted to the second ceremony site, Dawn quickly changed into her wedding gown and walked down the aisle again. The staff at the Ritz Carlton were amazing and such a pleasure to work with. Thank you Erica and Laura.

Well, how do I start this off? umm, well. I'm 14. I go to school at Clewiston Middle School. Today Mrs.K[who has speaken to you before] was talking about you coming to our class. I was so interested that afterwards, I couldn't but help thinking about careers and stuff like that. I've never met a photographer before and I'm really really excited about you coming to our school. Mrs.K showed me your pictures today and I was in awe. I didn't know what to say. Your pictures capture so much energy and life. They made me smile when I saw them. I really like them. You made me think of how it would be to be a photographer when I get older. I like taking pictures. I take alot. I probably have about 600 on myspace. I think you kind of gave me some hope, some intrest. Because today was kind of a dreery day and I didn't feel good and then I went to Mrs.K's class and listened to what she was saying about you and it made my brain start thinking and I forgot that I didn't feel good.lol.She said that you are a perfect example of a person who didn't let anything get in the way of reaching your dream. That inspired me. Alot of stuff happened to me in my past and has beaten me up plenty of times, but just hearing that you could get through your problems, helped me. It makes me feel like there's actually something to live for. It makes me feel like I can still live my life and move on like you did. I want to be like you. I teach 8th graders and am constantly telling the students about having dreams and fulfilling their own. I have had many opportunities to show the students people who have fulfilled their dreams....from the NFL player I met in a Birmingham airport, to the gentlemen who built the venue my daughter and her fiancé are having their wedding at....I tell the kids when I looked at these men and women...I see a dream fulfilled....I see people walking out their dream...using the gifts they have been given. Michael and Jennifer: November 8, 2008

Last nights wedding was at the LaPlaya Resort and it was awesome. Mike and Jen love children so much, that they decided to make their entire bridal party children only. The bridal party consisted of 5 children, ages 7 and under. The best man, who was 7 years old, gave one of the best toasts I've ever heard (and I'm serious). There wasn't a dry eye in the place, including mine. What an amazing child. Children add such emotion and fun to a wedding. Mike and Jen made sure the children were styling with their own cookies and milk table, along with an ice cream cart. DJ Chris Ceron provided the children with their own microphone and they partied and danced all night. I love working with him.

We have a busy weekend with weddings. Last night I photographed a wedding at the Inn on Fifth. What a sweet couple. The bride and groom are employed at the LaPlaya Resort. The sunset was gorgeous and we had just enough time to capture a few shots on 5th Ave. The amazing DJ Ceron kept the dance floor filled.

This wedding was a very sweet and emotional wedding. I found myself tearing up on several different occasions. My bride Katie was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever had the opportunity to photograph and her groom Rob absolutely adored her. They both loved to be photographed which made for a fun day. Their wedding took place at the Bonita Bay Club.
